LOGO DEVELOPMENT, WEB DESIGN , & SOCIAL MEDIA DESIGN

DeLandria Staton, M.S., LGPC, NCC is a licensed psychotherapist and life coach. Her most notable work is within the music and entertainment industry, counseling entertainers as they navigate hectic life in a rigorous industry. Based out of Maryland, DeLandria travels to speak at various women's events and to counsel her clients. I was excited to work with her in developing her brand's voice through visual design.
SCOPE
DeLandria reached out needing brand identity; she's active on social media and wanted to have a visual presence to accompany her content. Her logo is her name, but she wanted it to stand out. We actually started with the logo and sleek business cards. After her business cards were done, we moved into her website. As we have a landing page live now, her full site will have a number of features that will allow her to interact with her clients and run her counseling/coaching business in a more efficient way. 

She wanted something feminine and appealing, but professional and serious.
DESIGN
  • Color Palette: My client already knew she wanted to use the colors pink and green, as they pay homage to her Greek affiliation. Green communicates wellness and health - we chose a nice deep green that gives us that "professional" look, and a nice mauve-ish pink to nod to femininity. Pink conveys youthfulness, femininity, and vibrance. This muted pink is a little less youthful, but still fulfills its purpose.
  • Typography: DeLandria also had a distinct font in mind for her first name, so I made sure to pair it with a strong sans serif font for balance. Her last name is powerful, and we wanted to draw upon that with the typography. I laced her first name through her last name to add depth, character, and visibility.

WEBSITE DESIGN  + DEVELOPMENT
DeLandria requested a sleek, neat landing page as we build her full website. For now, visitors and potential clients are able to subscribe to her mailing list. Her full site, which is coming soon, will:
  • Allow potential clients to book therapy and coaching sessions
  • Feature digital downloads and content for purchase
  • A lifestyle & professional blog
  • Provide a safe and secure portal for clients to fill out paperwork prior to therapy appointments
